Job summary
We are delighted to welcome clinical support worker applications to B6 outpatients. B6 OPD is a busy ENT/Maxillo facial outpatient department based in Russells Hall Hospital. The department provides routine, rapid access and emergency appointments Monday to Friday. Initially a fixed term or secondment position for 6 months.
We are searching for a caring individual who understands the specialist needs of our patients and is able to display compassion and patience at all times.
The successful applicant will be actively encouraged to develop their skills and knowledge to meet both personal and service development needs.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Support Worker will work together with members of the Nursing / Midwifery Medical Team and contribute to the implementation of a high standard of patient care.
He/she will communicate effectively with other members of the health care team, patients and relatives and recognise and report to the appropriate person changes in the patient's condition, which may require the intervention of others.
He/she will communicate to the Team Leader any clinic administrative/organisational problems that impact upon the smooth running of clinics and/or the patient pathway through the ENT outpatient service.
For new appointments only: The post holder will be assessed on appointment on their level of competence and required as part of the Trusts training and development programme for clinical support workers to undertake a structured pathway of development to include basic skills, in house development programme and NVQ level 2 in Care within an agreed timescale.
