Octagon Group is delighted to be working with an innovative technology business based in Bedfordshire searching for a new Business Development Manager to join their sales team.
The Business Development Manager will help drive the global sales team and be responsible for the profitable development of sales within a defined territory, in-line with company objectives and growth targets.
You will work on site 5 days per week, have a full UK driving licence and live within commuting distance of the office in Bedfordshire. You must also be able to travel internationally when required.
Key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager role:
* Generating and developing sales opportunities with new and existing customers from global blue chips to technology start-ups
* Closing sales and achieving sales targets
* Managing customer opportunities for bespoke capital equipment
* Facilitating customer requests for high value, bespoke systems
* Preparing detailed technical quotes
* Handling tenders and understanding contractual negotiations, both commercial and technical
* Project managing customer liaison during lengthy sales cycles
* Producing PowerPoint presentations to support sales activities
* Sales forecasting
* Assist with managing the company’s marketing activities
