The Company
Our client is a well established building services company and are seeking a skilled Electrical Project Manager to join their team to work on an exciting pharmaceutical plant project with an MEP value of £6M. This role will be based in Moreton, Wirral and is a unique opportunity to be part of a company that has a strong reputation in the industry and who are now expanding, leading to the potential for significant long-term work.
The Role and its Responsibilities
The Electrical Project Manager will be responsible for managing the electrical side of new build of offices and laboratory facilities for approximately 200 staff with a specific focus on:
Medical gases
Air Handling Units (AHUs)
Air Conditioning (AC)
Clean water and deionized water systems
Intelligent lighting and daylight dimming systems
General electrical and mechanical services
The project is currently in the build phase under a JCT contract with a well-regarded main contractor and the Electrical Project Manager will be client-facing, working closely with the client on-site and managing the project from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery by May 2025. This role offers the potential for an extended working relationship, with the possibility of up to 10 years of work on the site and you will be supported by a visiting Contracts Manager and a permanent on-site Mechanical Engineer which will provide a collaborative and supportive working environment.
The Individual
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Electrical Project Manager with extensive experience managing projects of a similar scale and complexity. Given the high-profile nature of this project and the new client relationship, the successful candidate must be capable of demonstrating strong client-facing skills, excellent commercial awareness, and the ability to manage a project from cradle to grave.
Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager, preferably on large-scale commercial projects.
* Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including medical gases, AHUs, AC, intelligent lighting, and water systems.
* Excellent client management and communication skills, with the ability to foster strong client relationships.
* Strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage project budgets effectively.
* Experience working under JCT contracts is preferred.
* Ability to demonstrate a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
