Swindon Borough Council are seeking a commercially focussed and ambitious New Media Marketing & Development Officer with significant experience in digital marketing management to join our successful Museums and Heritage Team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to promote some of Swindon’s premier heritage attractions by delivering the highest quality marketing and business development to reinforce the Council’s heritage and commercial objectives.

Your next role
You will support the organisation by increasing attendance and income to the visitor attractions, promotion and development of new business within the hotel, conferencing and events facilities and achieve optimum levels of customer satisfaction, enjoyment and retention.
Working predominately at Lydiard Park (with occasional work at Museum & Art Swindon and STEAM Museum), the successful candidate will be responsible for managing websites, social media, print marketing and PR that cater for the needs of our corporate and community sectors. You will seek new and innovative ways to keep the Swindon Museums and Hotel brands fresh so that visitors continue to be inspired and engaged and you will have the capability to manage multiple location marketing at any one time whilst still maintaining an impeccable eye for detail and service.
You will plan, develop and implement a successful and inspirational programme of marketing activities which are appropriately branded, financially viable, cost effective and sustainable, in order to attract and retain audiences and raise levels of attendance and income to deliver heritage and commercial objectives.
The successful candidate will be flexible to work evenings and weekends when required to support the museum and heritage programme.
Must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role)”.
