Ideally,the candidate will have experience in HCA duties (see job description) and befamiliar with SystmOne. Phlebotomy is essential to this role.
Hours of work requiredare 20 hours per week and,additionally, the availability to cover some extended access shifts (occasional late evenings/Saturdays).

Main duties of the job
You will be part of our nursing team, undertaking bloods, BPs, ECGs, dressings, some vaccinations, NHS health checks, baseline observations regarding health monitoring and promotion.
About us
We are a well-established practice working across 2 sites (less than 100 yards apart) with a list size of approximately 19,000 patients.
Our multi-disciplinary team includes GP, GP Registrars, Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Nurses, HCAs and Phlebotomists, all supported with an extensive administration team.

Job responsibilities
Undertake new patient health checks
Support the practice nurse with healthpromotion programmes
Carry out baseline observations such as pulseoximitery, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findingsaccurately
Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring,advising patients accordingly
Undertake wound care, dressings and otherclinical tasks as required
Support the practice nurse with the managementof chronic disease clinics
Carry out BMI checks as directed
Act as a chaperone as required
When trained, undertake venepuncture
When trained, administer flu vaccinations
When trained, carry out ear irrigation underthe supervison of the practice nurse
Carry out ECGs as requested
Ensure specimens are recorded and ready foronward transportation
Provide support during minor operations asrequired
Ensure all clinical rooms are adequatelystocked and prepared for each session
Ensure fridges are cleaned routinely inaccordance with extant guidance
Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinicalareas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy
Deliver opportunistic health promotion whereappropriate
