As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development biomedical research and donor / clinical services.
Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of patient/donor care whilst remaining internationally competitive. The Donor Services Department is responsible for the planning and provision of adequate supplies of safe, high quality blood components for NHS Scotland in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Post:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the multidisciplinary Donor Services Administration team within Donor & Transport Services (D&TS). The principal functions of the Donor Services Administrative team is to provide administration support in all areas of donor services and to ensure patient and donor safety by working within agreed clinical and quality standards and procedures and ensuring accurate data input.
The Donor Services Support Officer (DSSO) is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support in all areas of Donor Services, participating in the delivery of excellent service to donors and members of the public.
Post-holder will work as part of a team to ensure essential information is accurately recorded and updated in timely manner, good organizational skills and attention to detail are required for all aspects of the job.

Candidates must be educated to higher grade level or demonstrate equivalent experience. We are seeking an individual with a customer focused approach and who is organised and adaptable.
You must also possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to multi task and be able to work under pressure. An in-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office, other software packages and excellent key board skills are all essential. Previous relevant healthcare administration experience is advantageous.
