Job Description
Vale's Clydach Refinery, one of the world's oldest and most respected nickel refineries, is seeking a Effluent Plant Process Technician to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to our commitment to high-quality production and sustainable practices in a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and operate computerized control systems for wastewater treatment
* Ensure plant processes operate within regulated parameters
* Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot process issues
* Make process control decisions and adjust chemical feed rates
* Maintain facility logs, databases, and generate reports
Qualifications:
* Completed Craft or Process Apprenticeship
* Minimum BTEC National Certificate in Engineering or Process Operations (or equivalent)
* Strong IT literacy and proficiency in Microsoft packages
Ideal Candidate:
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience in process plant operations or maintenance
* Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
* Ability to work independently and handle emergencies calmly
* Strong flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs
* Previous experience of working in a water treatment plant would be desirable
