This role will support the UK Head of Tax to manage the relationship with HM Revenue and Customs, and ensure compliance of the Banks VAT, corporation tax and operational tax requirements, along with any changes therein. You can be at various stages of your career to succeed in this role, the main thing for us is to find the right person. We do not expect the individual to have experience in all areas listed below, but to have a willingness to learn and develop in these areas whilst building a career in tax. Your skills: Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role: A qualified accountant / tax accountant OR a part-qualified accountant with 5+ years of tax related experience Have a good understanding of tax laws and statutory regulations Proficient in Microsoft Office, to manage large amounts of data and develop spreadsheet models to efficiently manage processes. Use of other tools such as Alteryx or SQL would be beneficial but not essential Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Strong organisational and project management skills Self-driven to learn and develop a career in tax Effective communication, both written and verbal, with an ability to build effective working relationships at all levels Self-motivated to identify issues and opportunities, and find effective solutions Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Experience working within the financial services industry is an advantage but not essential for this role Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially How we work Our belief is that we are Better when Together and want to balance the benefits of teaming up in person with flexible working where possible.
