Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic Sonographer Assistant for our Prisons Service (Mondays and Wednesdays). To succeed you must have excellent communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach to delivering first class diagnostic services and patient care. The post holder will work closely with Sonographers and Radiologists, supporting them with patients during their clinics. Training is provided and further career development opportunities throughout the company. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Main duties of the job

4. Ensuring the clinical room is prepared prior to the start of clinical sessions
5. Using the patient information systems (Soliton/PACS)
6. Monitoring and maintaining adequate stock levels and ordering supplies of linen, gowns and consumables
7. Ensuring and maintaining a patient centred and quality focused approach to all aspects of work
8. Ensure patients have access to a chaperone at all times
9. Uphold professional standards policy
10. Uphold data protection and patient confidentiality at all times

Job responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
11. Maintain a patient focused quality approach to all aspects of work.
12. Assist in the care and comfort of the patient at all times.
13. Escort patients to and from clinical rooms and, when necessary assist with undressing and dressing and provide a chaperone service to clinicians. This may include helping patients move between positions, helping patients stand etc, in which effective manual handling techniques are required.
14. Assist the Clinician during examinations, as requested. This may include interventional procedures and the handling and use of sterile consumables.
15. Ensure the smooth running of clinics.
16. Ensure clinical rooms are prepared to the appropriate level of cleanliness, as described in the Infection Control policy, prior to the start of the clinical session.
17. Where required maintain knowledge of the Healthshare Radiology Information System (Soliton) in order to, interrogate the database, update details and print clinic lists. Ensuring all aspects are undertaken within the Data Protection guidelines.
18. Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels and order supplies of linen, gowns and consumables.
19. Check all the received orders and distribute stock across sites as required.
20. Assist in the induction and training of new staff.
21. Provide administration support as required.
22. Safe and secure transportation of equipment between sites as required, which may involve pushing/pulling a weight of up to 50kg, and lifting equipment up to 25kg.
23. Adhere to the Corporate and local policies applicable to the role.

The post holder will be required to adhere to effective manual handling techniques due to the requirements to lift and move both equipment and assist patients. Full training will be given.
