Job Summary
We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our team in providing compassionate care and support to individuals in their own home setting. The role involves assisting the individuals with getting ready in the morning, prompting/carrying out personal care and maintaining hygiene, supporting with preparation of meals through the day, moving and handling, shopping, cooking and other daily activities, ensuring their well-being, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the individual with personal care tasks such as washing and dressing in order to maintain hygiene.
* Assisting in the implementation of care plans under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
* Communicating effectively with the individual, families, and the care team.
* Providing emotional support and companionship.
* Helping to maintain accurate records and documentation.
* Assisting with budgeting and promoting independence where needed.
* Going out for visits into the community and supporting to ensure safety.
* Utilising IT systems for record-keeping and communication.
Requirements
* Must live in Huntingdon, St Ives, Cambourne and nearby areas.
* Having own car and ability to drive or travel to the client home location is essential.
* Experience or interest in working in an individual's home environment.
* Experience working with individuals who have a range of learning disabilities and physical disabilities is essential. Experience working with individuals with more complex needs e.g. autism, dementia is an advantage.
* Strong communication skills to interact well with the individuals.
* Familiarity with care plans and procedures is advantageous.
* Proficiency in English for clear documentation and communication.
* Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the individual.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract
Pay: £12.00 per hour
