12 months FTC to cover a period of transition - Carlisle
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will join a team of 4, working closely with the business units and the finance team to develop and improve accurate, timely financial reports tailored to their needs and that of the business. Typical duties of this role will include;
1. Working closely with the Business Units and the Finance Team to develop and improve accurate, timely financial reports tailored to their needs and that of the business.
2. Assist the Finance Director to identify the drivers of and risks to business unit performance with tailored reports and financial analysis.
3. Manage the WIP sheet for machined items and projects, updating operational forecasts and reviewing contract margins.
4. Prepare monthly management accounts and management information packs to track business performance.
5. Co-ordinating the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts and KPIs, analysing and reporting on variances, managing taxpliance processes, SAOpliance, and the monthly and year end management accounts processes.
6. Developing and measuring key financial performance indicators aligned withpany strategy for continuous improvement.
7. Developing financial processes, and tools for timely and effective management reporting.
8. Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
The skill and experience required for this Management Accountant job include: -
9. QBE or part qualified Accountant
10. Good working knowledge of accounting standards and principles
11. Ability to prepare management accounts from Trial Balance.
12. Ability to prepare budgets and forecasts covering multiple reporting periods,
13. The ability tomunicate well and develop an excellent working relationship with both finance and non-finance staff at all levels across the business.
14. To be able to analyse, interrogate and interpret financial reports and accounts whilst providingmercial input and challenge to the relevant management teams
15. Strongmercial acumen, focusing on the bottom line, understanding the impact of all actions on the business
16. First time movers from Accountancy practice desirable
17. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a dynamic team to tight reporting deadlines
18. Excellentmunication skills and ability to business partner within a variety of management teams adding value and support
19. High level of Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables vLookups etc…).
