The company is a leading waste management organisation managing over 10 sites across the UK. They specialise in energy production from landfill gas, producing over 150 GWh of electricity each year and are committed to providing renewable solutions to waste management.
In this role, no two days are the same. This is a varied position where you will be working on gas collection systems - from balancing to fault finding, as well as mechanical maintenance duties on power generation engines and associated equipment. Maintenance and service are both reactive and pre-planned, where you will receive training on all aspects of landfill.
This is the ideal role for a mechanical engineer with experience in engines, looking to train and become a specialist within landfill. You will be looking to gain a future-proof skill set and work within the renewable energy market within an organisation committed to employee development. The Role -
* Monitoring gas collection systems on landfill sites, including balancing of analysers and downloading data.
* Maintenance, fault diagnosis, and breakdown of gas collection systems.
* Power generation asset maintenance, including engines and generator sets.
* Plant equipment maintenance (mechanical and electrical).
* 24-hour emergency call-out - 1 in 6 weeks.
The Candidate -
* Mechanical engineer with experience working in engines - HGV, Diesel, Marine, Navy, Army, REME, etc.
* Mechanical maintenance, service, and repair experience.
* Motivated to train and develop.
* IT literate with the ability to use a laptop.
