Salary: £87,570 + up to 20% bonus

NHS Fleet Solutions, formed in 2009, is the top provider of salary sacrifice cars to the public sector, serving over 400 organisations with a turnover exceeding £400m in 2023/24. It also runs NHS Home Electronics with 50 clients and a £15m+ turnover.
Role Overview
The Finance Director - Fleet will report to the Managing Director of the Fleet subsidiary and functionally to Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s Executive Director of Finance. Responsibilities include strategic financial management, commercial profitability, and capital management, supporting the Trust's goal of improving patient care.
You will lead a team of 50 office-based staff and a field account management team. The role also involves overseeing the finance of NHS Home Electronics.
Main Duties
1. Ensure efficient financial systems and business focus
2. Lead corporate reporting and interactions with audit/regulatory bodies
3. Investigate and communicate complex financial issues
4. Ensure statutory returns are accurate
5. Advise on financial matters related to Trust investments
6. Develop and deliver financial presentations
7. Assist in managing the Fleet business performance
8. Achieve financial targets and present at national forums
9. Formulate and measure KPIs
10. Provide leadership and management guidance
11. Develop and review relevant policies
12. Manage cost-effective services meeting Trust’s strategic needs
13. Serve as the principal contact for key client financial enquiries
14. Support growth and profitability of the Fleet business
15. Identify partnership opportunities and manage stakeholder relationships
16. Ensure compliance with HMRC and other regulatory guidelines
17. Analyse business data and maintain knowledge of sector developments
Candidate Profile
18. Qualified accountant with relevant experience
19. Knowledge of NHS Financial Management is desirable
20. Experience in a commercial environment
21. Track record of achieving KPIs and performance targets
22. Strong negotiation and influence skills
23. Ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences
24. Experience in leading complex change projects
25. Expertise in financial analysis and advice
26. Attention to detail and accuracy in a busy environment
27. Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills
28. Full driving licence
