Insurance & Risk Lead Officer(RP0114)Starting salary £44,937pa with potential progression to £48,069pa on achieving designated skills and experience 37 hours per week (hybrid working)We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Insurance & Risk Officer to join our team. This business-critical role would suit a highly motivated and technically astute insurance professional. With your knowledge and experience, you will use your insurance and claims handling experience to deliver excellent advice and guidance to both staff and members of the public.You would lead on arranging and managing all aspects of the Council’s insurance and risk management matters. As the expert officer, you will be responsible for providing advice and guidance for the Council on all insurance matters, identifying and mitigating risks and ensuring integrity and compliance with legal processes. You will be responsible for arranging and managing all the Council’s insurance policies and providing advice and guidance to senior management as well as developing and keeping up to date the Council’s risk framework and register. This will involve you building relationships at all levels of the organisation and being involved in a wide variety of projects and activities.We are looking for someone who has:Substantial insurance and claims handling experience in a large organisation at a senior levelKnowledge of insurance best practice, current advice and regulations and legal principles in relation to liabilityExceptional communication and negotiation skillsA keen eye for detail You will work closely with all Council services and provide professional leadership and management of the Council’s insurance and risk management function.The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.Closing date for applications is 12 January 2025.Remote assessment date is 20 January 2025.
