As the Sustaining Senior Process Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of wafer fab sustaining process engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to transition advanced technology processes from design and prototype stages to full-scale manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and prioritize the work of the manufacturing engineering team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment while driving cross-functional results and managing team performance.
2. Oversee the development of key manufacturing processes including diffusion, etching, thermal treatments, lithography, and thin film deposition, ensuring a smooth transition from initial exploration to product introduction and high-volume production.
3. Own and manage the technology roadmap for the above areas, supporting the R&D product roadmap, qualifying new equipment, and implementing innovative process capabilities.
4. Serve as a module owner, conducting operational tests and measurements to ensure control over critical dimensions and process defectivity.
5. Propose and implement equipment modifications to enhance production efficiency, improve manufacturing techniques, and optimize output for current products.
6. Define and communicate processing requirements for the design and acquisition of new equipment.
7. Utilize independent judgment to adjust tools and processes, whether reactively to on-line changes or proactively to maximize production efficiency.
8. Solve complex engineering problems using your formal education and experience.
9. Provide comprehensive engineering support for wafer fab operations, with a focus on safety, quality, process optimization, and equipment manufacturability.
Education, Qualifications, and Skills:
1. Degree in a semiconductor-related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
2. Proficiency in SPC, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Effective team player with strong communication skills to achieve collaborative goals.
5. Ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
7. Experience with photonic integrated circuit manufacturing is a plus.
8. Background in high-technology manufacturing or production environments is advantageous.
9. Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES).
10. Experience with JMP or Minitab is preferred.
