The Pineapple Project is an innovative project focused on keeping young women safe outside of their homes. The project began as a pilot in the Weymouth area; however we are looking to expand the work that we have achieved into further areas of Dorset. In joining the team you will have the opportunity to help shape an ever-evolving project and work alongside young women and other non-traditional safeguarding partners to raise the profile of the project.
What you can expect to be doing:
The role will include direct work with young people - this may be facilitating group work, delivering assemblies or community engagement. It will also include working with new partners to recruit "community guardians" There will be opportunities for you to complete creative pieces of work and help shape the promotion of the project as it expands into other areas. You will be working closely with internal and external partners within your day to day work and will have opportunities to different training opportunities (where applicable)
About you:
We are looking for someone who is creative, enthusiastic and passionate about making positive change for young women who may experience forms of harm. We would like to recruit someone who has experience of:
1. working with young people, ideally in a youth work setting;
2. understanding of multi-agency practice
3. awareness of key issues that impact young people (in particular young women)
4. excellent communication skills
5. enthusiasm, initiative and motivation
6. awareness of child safeguarding requirements/procedures

This post requires significant travel. You must have a vehicle (or transport we deem suitable) available for use as needed.
