BDS have an exciting opportunity for a mobile responder to form part of a response service in the North East.
The post holder will work from home and respond to emergency call outs and welfare checks to older adults in sheltered housing schemes. The service supports clients who have had telecare equipment installed. Responders will respond to calls that have been screened and triaged by a call centre and an operator feels a physical check is required. A company handset is provided and on receipt of a call out the Responder will travel to the client and check what support is needed to make them safe and well. Duties and responsibilities will include:
* Assess the situation upon arrival and co-ordinate an appropriate response/escalation procedure which may result in summoning further assistance or providing support to the customer
* Respond to all emergency call outs within 45 minutes
* Use key safe information to access service user’s homes
* Activate the call equipment linked to the control centre to indicate arrival on site
* Signpost the situation on site the get the Service User the support they need to make them safe and well
* Stay on site until the incident has been fully resolved
* Maintain a line of communication between the responder and the control centre throughout the visit, where appropriate
* Record details of visits, the incident and details of actions taken, and the relevant parties informed
