An innovative, technology-driven Structural Engineering Consultancy that operates across the UK, specialising in Structural Inspections, Surveys, and Design is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to be the operational and technical lead for the design team out of their Sheffield office. They're looking for an experienced individual with extensive experience in structural design of buildings. The Senior Structural Engineer will be MIStructE or MICE preferred, but not essential. The design projects are diverse and interesting, ranging from small residential projects through to multi-storey RC framed buildings. Clients include housing associations, the education sector, manufacturers, retail, transport infrastructure, developers, the insurance sector, and large contractors.

Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrate a high level of technical quality and service delivery
* Provide exceptional customer service at all times
* Attend site inspections and site meetings
* Be the operational and technical lead for the design team, including design approvals, coaching, and mentoring
* Prepare structural design calculations across a range of market sectors including residential, educational, commercial, rail infrastructure, and industrial
* Prepare design solutions in respect of building insurance claims, including fire, storm, explosion, flooding, and subsidence
* Deliver projects ranging from small residential properties to large commercial projects, ensuring commercial success, driving utilisation and profitability
* Assist with business development to drive growth of the team including the development of the design team and providing progress reports
* Ensure adherence to contractual/client SLA's and KPI's
* Several years' structural design experience will be required
* Knowledge of industry-standard software
* A general understanding of structures and materials including steel, masonry, concrete, and timber
* Understanding of sustainability and environmental impact of building structures, including a working knowledge of embodied carbon calculations
* A good knowledge of Health & Safety in respect of construction activities
* MICE or MIStructE chartered status, desirable but not essential
