Key Responsibilities:
1. Subject matter expert and accountable for the delivery maintenance support services to laboratories, their equipment and infrastructure, ensuring they meet the needs of the organisation and its employees.
2. Ownership of the laboratory CAFM system, human resources and associated other asset management systems, to ensure all maintenance activity is co-ordinated, compliant and cost effective.
3. Direct line management of the resources associated with delivery, in terms of staff management, development and support.
4. Collaborates with the Facilities Director in the development of new policies and/or ideas in this area to further improve the company’s operations.
5. Managing a small team to drive operational efficiency in lab asset service maintenance.
6. Ensuring the maintenance and renewal of scientific equipment contracts and organising equipment repairs on a daily basis.
7. Management of small projects, ability to support Facilities related relocation and design projects, specifically in relation to lab equipment.
8. Ensuring all scientific equipment related ‘contractors’ are booked in for all repairs and maintenance to all machines and building infrastructure.
9. Ensure all contractors adhere to the Immunocore H&S policy / permit to work and are correctly inducted before entering any parts of the buildings.
10. Assisting the Facilities Director in successfully coordinating contractors to carry out works.
11. Manage and own the associated databases ensuring they are operated and utilised correctly by all users.
12. Work closely and interact with suppliers to ensure Immunocore receives best value, service and maximising the functionality of the system(s).
13. Line management of the team, providing guidance and coaching to junior members of the team.
14. Sets meaningful own and team objectives to drive strong performance.
15. Ensure Risk Assessments for all works managed by Immunocore.
16. Liaising with EHS to ensure compliance throughout all laboratories.
Experience & Knowledge:
Essential:
1. Exhibits advanced, wide-ranging understanding of in-depth professional knowledge, acumen, and concepts within the lab assets function.
2. Experience in the differing requirements of laboratories and associated equipment.
3. A quick, decisive problem solver, that listens and engages with their team.
4. Advanced, wide ranging, understanding and experience of ‘asset management’ in relation to planned maintenance and statutory inspections.
5. Held roles previously in the management capacity of a manager, specifically in relation to asset management of business assets.
6. Managed service delivery to a demanding customer group.
7. Provides clear instruction and direction to ensure objectives and tasks are completed in a timely manner.
8. Strong commercial awareness of contract management and previous experience working with contractors.
9. Successfully managed a small team including data administrators.
10. Good knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Desirable:
1. Previously provided facilities / laboratory support within a face-paced environment.
2. Knowledge of SFG20 maintenance regime.
3. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and associated infrastructure equipment.
4. Worked in Facilities support in the biotech/pharmaceutical sector highly beneficial.
Education & Qualifications:
1. Degree calibre
2. Expert in MS Excel
3. Demonstratable ability to use IT systems specifically around data capture and scheduling
4. FM qualification (D)
