Job Summary This newly created position will provide a wide variety of legal support to the Senior Legal Counsel on matters related to SightGlass Vision internationally. This will include reviewing, drafting & making recommendations on a variety of legal documents, in addition to supporting contract management processes, compliance matters and IP portfolio management. The role is part of a small and nimble team and requires flexibility of approach and strong communication skills. This role is ideally full time but some flexibility in working hours will be considered. We will also consider a degree of hybrid working if required. What you will do Draft, review and revise contract templates, and draft simple form documents (or contract amendments). Support contract management processes. Under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel, negotiate, draft and review various types of agreements. Ad-hoc projects: As directed by the Senior Legal Counsel, participate in, or independently, (i) conduct research, (ii) create or revise templates, (iii) generate “playbooks” and other internal client self-help resources. Work with colleagues to provide analysis and solutions for various compliance matters. Assist with the review of marketing materials and claims Assist with IP portfolio management and infringement matters. Assist with corporate governance matters. Support additional projects across the global business, such as employment matters and process improvement activities. Administrative Support: Provide certain administrative support to the Senior Legal Counsel, including supporting liaison with external law firms and processing of bills, organizing meetings, and maintaining and organizing electronic files and legal documents. What you will bring Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Prior paralegal experience (in-house or in a law firm) is required. A strong understanding of commercial agreements, with experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts. Some IP experience is desirable. Knowledge of commercial legal formalities, compliance terms and principles, and experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. Strong organisational skills, the ability to work independently, to manage own workload, handle conflicting priorities is essential. Proficient use of and experience using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe and other applications and tools. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. · Sound discretion and judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Law degree preferred, but a paralegal certificate and/or prior experience as a paralegal will also be considered. Experience: Minimum of 2 years' paralegal experience gained in the UK.
