We are thrilled to re-introduce to market an exciting opportunity to join us as Finance Director. It's an exciting time to join the team, and the College with new projects on the horizon, including large capital projects; procurement legislation changes and the impacts of changing education reform.
This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Willerby Grove Campus, with the expectation of working across all three sites.

East Durham College is a thriving Further Education College, based across three sites across Durham and Peterlee - Willerby Grove, Houghall and The Technical Academy. We deliver a diverse range of provision including 14-16; home schooled; 16-19 general FE, Land Based Education and HE.

What are the Main Duties of the Role?
Your role will be to lead on the operational financial management and financial reporting with the broad aim of securing the College's financial viability and delivering the Strategic Vision and Mission, thus supporting the organisation to deliver an ambitious curriculum to all.
You will be a key member of the College Management Group (CMG), helping to develop and implement strategy and to resource and deliver the College's objectives. The role will be actively involved in, and able to bring influence to bear on, all significant business decisions by providing thoughtful, insightful and measured information.
You will promote excellent financial management and internal control so that public money is safeguarded at all times and used within the principals of best value and compliance.
What are our non-negotiables for this role:
* Fully qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA accounting qualifications
* Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Demonstrable experience in relevant finance roles
