Payroll Clerk
We are looking for a Payroll Clerk with previous experience across multiple businesses to assist in all activities regarding the management of employee compensation for our clients. You will undertake a variety of tasks, detailed below.
An excellent payroll clerk has a great understanding of the concept of confidentiality. You will be experienced in entering data with attention to detail and will have good math skills to be able to check the calculations. The ideal candidate will be a thorough professional with good communication abilities.
The goal is to carry out all payroll procedures with speed and accuracy.
Responsibilities
* Using our payroll software to calculate pay and deductions for our clients
* Manage and calculate taxes and deductions
* Reporting PAYE figures to HMRC for our weekly and monthly payrolls
* Issuing statements and maintaining records
* Updating payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes, etc.
* Assisting clients with payroll queries
* Preparing and issuing annual forms and figures to the clients
* Setting up new payrolls on the software and at HMRC
* Setting up new CIS schemes, taking the monthly figures from clients and reporting them to HMRC on the CIS returns
Whilst Payroll will be your main work, in due course we may require you to learn new tax-based skills in order to assist the Tax Department in busy times.
You will be working in our main Brading office and will, on occasion, be required to assist the office manager in the day-to-day running of that office.
This is a job sharing position and whilst there may be some flexibility on times, the core hours are intended to be 9am to 1pm Wednesday to Friday each week.
