1to1 Group are delighted to be working with a private provider based in Winchester, to supply a Medical Secretary on a permanent basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting a handful of busy consultants, who will be located across various hospitals and clinics across the south coast. This is a full time role, working either 8-4 or 9:30-5:30 Monday to Friday.
The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients’ pathway of care. The post holder will work as part of a friendly and supportive team and will provide expertise in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly. The post holder will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being as accessible, customer focused and a knowledgeable point of contact and provide a consistent approach across their consultants within given timescales.
Responsibilities include:
·Process and log all referrals
·Schedule new and follow-up appointments; ensure that capacity is proactively and efficiently used. This includes booking patients into the appropriate clinic to ensure that the patient is seen by the most appropriate clinician first time and for subsequent follow ups.
·To ensure that any diagnostics and investigations that are required as part of the patient pathway have been sourced and that all results are available for consultations both internally and externally.
·Ensure outcomes of clinic attendances have been accurately recorded
·Complete clinic cancellation forms and process accordingly
·Liaise with clinical teams forming additional clinics to the EPR system and process efficiently.
·Reschedule outpatient clinics as requested, ensuring at all times possible breaches are met within the specific time frame.
·Use the Trusts’ medical transcription system and ensure that letters are processed in accordance with locally agreed timeframes.
·Liaise with patients’ records staff, clinical colleagues, other administration teams and other organisations to ensure all medical information is available for outpatient appointments and consultations.
·Receive and respond enquiries by letter/fax/email.

·Able to work in a fast-paced environment, someone who is flexible in this environment and with working hours.
·Computer literate, can confidently use Microsoft Office packages.
