About this Head of Finance job opportunity:
* As our new Head of Finance, you’ll lead our finance team, developing and growing your staff and together making a real difference to enable the council to deliver for the community.
* You will provide strategic financial guidance and direction to support the council’s ambitious goals and objectives.
* You will lead, inspire and manage a talented and dedicated finance team, fostering a collaborative and high performing culture.
* You’ll oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate plan objectives within a challenging financial environment for local authorities.
* You will monitor and analyse financial performance, ensuring robust controls are followed and collaborate with stakeholders.
The working pattern:
* Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
* 37 hours per week.
* Permanent contract.

* Ability to coach, lead, manage and develop high performing teams

* Experience of budget management
* Experience of managing at a senior level
Your knowledge
* A demonstrable knowledge of local authority financial accounting
Your qualifications
* An appropriate Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) professional qualification
