About the Role:
Randstad Education is seeking caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistants to work within our partner nurseries and schools across Lewes. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting young children's early learning and development, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the day-to-day activities in the nursery, including play, learning, and meal times.
2. Assist in the planning and delivery of activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.
3. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in your care.
4. Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their confidence and independence.
5. Work collaboratively with nursery staff and teachers to maintain a supportive and inclusive environment.
6. Assist with the preparation and tidying of the nursery or classroom, ensuring a clean and organised space.
7. Observe and monitor children's progress, contributing to records and reports as needed.
8. Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on their child's development and well-being.
Requirements:
9. Experience working with young children in a nursery or early years setting is highly desirable.
10. A caring, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting children's development.
11. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
12. An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework is advantageous.
13. Relevant childcare qualifications (such as NVQ Level 2 or 3) are beneficial but not essential.
14. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
