Job summary
The Payments Product Delivery Manager will have a passion for the customer experience and focus on the end-to-end journeys to drive simplicity and innovation for not only clients, but also for their end-customers and suppliers. This will require immersion into the sales, operating and service models to deeply understand onboarding needs, product usage, client touchpoints and issue resolution. The role will require the ability to develop strong working relationships with sales and service teams, and with functional areas and product partners across lines of business. The successful candidate will be responsible for articulating needs and business cases and for positioning the value proposition as part of the wider offering to clients. Additional responsibilities include stewardship and representation in key new product approvals and ready to launch activities.
Payments Product focus in this role will include UK payment mechanisms, especially Bacs and Faster Payments.
Job Responsibilities
Product Design / Solutioning
1. Leverage feedback from clients, Sales teams and Service/ Operations colleagues to understand client use-cases and needs and identify gaps in the product offering and/or appropriate solutions to enhance the client experience, optimize the operating model (including internal processes and operations) and grow the business.
2. Represent client and onboarding/ servicing requirements for consideration in product design, investment planning and prioritization.
Product Delivery
3. EMEA liaison for heritage Commercial Banking (h-CB) for day-to-day management, issue resolution, management reporting etc. for UK payments products, with particular focus on h-CB client impact.
4. Heritage CB lead for the New Business Initiative Approval (NBIA), Change Management and Ready To Launch (RTL) processes for launching new product enhancements or solutions. This may include payments products in other EMEA markets.
5. Understand the inherent risks in payments products and work with Product Managers, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Control partners to assess and remediate risks.
6. Structure and present key updates to senior management, including governance committees.
Commercialisation
7. Develop deep understanding of the product P&L, including key revenue and expense drivers.
8. Work with relevant stakeholders to determine pricing strategy for h-CB clients.
9. Identify and drive opportunities for margin improvement / cost optimization.
Sales Enablement
10. Drive go-to-market strategy and activities associated with product or market launches, migrations, or enhancements to drive product adoption and ensure field readiness is complete for clients and supporting internal teams.
11. Develop content that supports the value proposition for delivery through training, marketing, communications, process & procedures and standardized proposal content.
12. Provide training and support to sales and business partners on new product capabilities.
13. Analyze data and work with Sales and Payments Product partners to build pipelines to grow revenue.
14. Support product-specific enquiries from front and middle office teams.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
15. Knowledge of UK payment clearing solutions including processing, technical and service nuances.
16. Relevant product, strategy or consulting experience within payments.
17. Sales and Service enablement experience with bringing new product capabilities to market - supporting appropriate field documentation and education.
18. Strong analytic skills and creative problem solving to examine processes and turn analysis into actionable insights and plans.
19. Ability to communicate complex ideas through compelling stories, both verbal and in writing, combined with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills to ‘tell the story’ to a variety of audiences.
20. Well-developed organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities. Must be proactive, high energy, detail and results-oriented, and willing to drive change.
21. Proven track record of collaboration with cross-functional teams to build better solutions and to execute go-to-market plans.
