WHAT TO EXPECT
This team is part of Powertrain Test Operations and Engineering Operations. The team maintains productive workflow from the test facility and delivers test capability to the Powertrain Engineering and Certification teams.
The delivery of testing using complex measurement instruments is required to drive the design and optimization of control technology in order to meet required vehicle emission targets. Our function is to support the customer teams from Powertrain and Product Development in their objective of achieving ‘timely, quality’ product release.
You will operate across the Whitley facility conducting physical on road vehicle testing activities to ensure that we provide the capability to make measurements and deliver tests to fulfil customer requests.
This role operates on a double days shift pattern and there will be the opportunity to carry out testing abroad on occasion.
A full UK driving license with less than 6 penalty points, no disqualification and 2 years accident-free record will be required.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
● Enabling test delivery through application of advanced automation software
● Interpretation of test data and analysis of complex data sets and evaluation of findings to provide solutions and move test activity forward
● Project ownership, planning and delivery of quality test output and presenting data to stakeholders
● Identification of test requirements and chasing of key elements to enable team to make progress where required
● Creation and delivery of test programmes within agreed milestones
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
● NVQ3 or equivalent qualification and relevant technical experience in core competencies
● Experience of planning, co-ordinating and controlling your own workflow and achieving quality results
● Strong knowledge and experience of working in a test environment, with a knowledge of test facility requirements and specifications
● Proven skills in fault finding and resolution, problem analysis and root-cause identification are crucial, as is a methodical, logical approach to work
● High level of competency using Microsoft Office with the ability to produce plans, presentations, graphs and process documents
