If the answer is yes - then look no further as Church & Dwight UK Ltd have an exciting opportunity for a driven Buyer or Senior Buyer to join our exclusive team! This role is on a permanent basis and is located at our UK head office in Folkestone, Kent, with some days working from home.
At Church & Dwight UK Ltd, we are a leading manufacturer of personal care products, including renowned brands like Batiste dry shampoo, Femfresh intimate wash, and Arm & Hammer toothpaste. As a key member of our European Procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and contracting for specified spend categories, while fostering strong business partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key duties include:
* Supplier management including developing supplier relationships, performance measurement, negotiation, contract management and working closely with line manager to develop category/commodity strategies.
* Proactively identify and capitalize on opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
* Representing procurement on internal projects – EPD/NPD, managing cost and timescales for projects by working closely with external and internal stakeholders to meet project needs.
* Cost management using SAP to maintain supplier prices and to resolve/analyse price variances.
* Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes to drive strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the pharma or personal care/FMCG industry.
* A proven track record of delivering year-over-year cost improvements through effective procurement strategies.
* Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including manufacturing and packaging technologies.
* A degree (or equivalent qualification), ideally complemented by CIPS certification.
* Proficiency in SAP (or other MRP systems).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel to complete complex analysis.
* Confidence, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
This role will also include frequent travel within the UK and Europe.
For the right individual, this position can also be considered at the Buyer level, with the opportunity to progress into a Senior Buyer role following training.
