About the position
As a Logistics Coordinator/Shipping Export Coordinator at Zeeco Europe Ltd, you will play a vital role in supporting the Logistics department to meet compliance and customer expectations. You will coordinate freight solutions and ensure the timely delivery of shipments while managing the associated documentation and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Freight Solutions: Source cost-effective freight options to meet the daily requirements of various departments, supporting both plant operations and customer needs.
* Data Management: Utilise reporting and booking tools to manage and analyse day-to-day logistics operations.
* 3rd Party Negotiation: Liaise with and negotiate rates and service levels with 3rd party logistics providers to ensure competitive pricing.
* Issue Management: Record and address carrier-related issues promptly to ensure smooth logistics operations.
* Freight Shipment Coordination: Manage shipments from collection to delivery, ensuring they meet customer requirements and timelines.
* Documentation Compliance: Ensure all shipping documentation is accurate and compliant with customs regulations, working closely with various departments.
* Certifications: Liaise with local Chambers of Commerce to apply for and secure shipping certifications.
* Freight Pay Process: Support the financial aspect of logistics, closing out and processing invoices efficiently, including raising purchase orders using Sage software.
* Communication: Proactively communicate any shipping or transportation issues to relevant departments.
* Cost Reduction Initiatives: Identify and support cost-saving initiatives and cross-functional improvement efforts within the logistics scope.
* Reporting: Assist with the preparation of monthly reporting and support operational review meetings with transportation service providers.
* Internal Collaboration: Participate in internal meetings with Project Managers to understand logistics needs and provide solutions.
About you

* Attention to Detail: Meticulous in understanding logistics requirements and ensuring the accuracy of documentation.
* Logistics Knowledge: Experience in supply chain or logistics is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided.
* Transportation Knowledge: Familiarity with national and international transportation processes is advantageous.
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain departments and logistics partners.
* Critical Thinking: Forward-thinking with the ability to identify potential issues or gaps in processes and provide proactive solutions.
* IT Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to manage logistics data and reporting.
* Proximity: Must live within a 1-hour commute to the office.
