Our Pathology service covers a range ofdisciplines, providing 11million test results per annum Blood sciences(haematology, transfusion, biochemistry, immunology) and cellular sciences(microbiology, cellular pathology and mortuary), and is proud to promote careerdevelopment pathways throughout the team, at all levels. An excitingopportunity has arisen for one new post within our pathology team. We are looking for one highly motivated andenthusiastic individuals to assist the Quality Manager in preparing data for reportsand meeting to allow teams to perform trend analysis of incidents and organisingand arrangeing pathology meetings.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will assist the Quality Managerand Pathology departments with the implementation, management and maintenanceof the Quality Management System for Pathology services, ensuring specificstandards are met such as United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), HumanTissue Authority (HTA), Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority(MHRA), ISO standards 15189 and 9001.
The successful candidates will support staff at all AfCgrades with maintenance of accreditation,internal and external quality assessment, record keeping, data analysis,audit, data input, production of reports and training and administrationactivities associated with the Quality management system (Qpulse) for alldepartments.
You must have an understanding of Pathology laboratoryinformation systems and support document control and non-conformity reportingfor these systems, and have an understanding how these systems integrate intoTrust IT systems
The successful candidates must be able to travelindependently to support cross-site working across Durham and Darlington.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job responsibilities
A member of the Pathology department working as part of the Qualityteam, providing support to all disciplines to support maintenance andachievement of regulatory standards.
This support involves internal and external qualityassessment, record keeping, data analysis, audit, data input, production ofreports and training and administration activities associated with the Qualitymanagement system (Qpulse) for all departments
Directed by Pathology Quality Manager the post holder willassist the departments through the duties outlined.
They will be expected to work to the departmental standardoperating procedure and policies.
The role will involve training of Pathology staff at variouslevels/grades
The post holder will be expected to workautonomously with direction form the Quality Manager.
