Purchasing Manager - Senior Buyer - Manufacturing - Cannock
Brooklyn Recruitment currently have an exciting role available in the Cannock area for a Purchasing Manager within the manufacturing sector (specifically electrical manufacturing). This role would suit someone with senior / managing purchasing / buying experience within a manufacturing environment, electrical manufacturing would be ideal but isn’t essential.
This company have an excellent working environment with the building being light, bright and clean. You would be responsible for managing a team of around 10 direct reports and joining a total workforce of around 200. Even though this is a medium sized company they still have a family friendly feel to it, where everyone is known by name and you even get your birthday off!
As a Purchasing Manager you will be tasked with:
1. Establishing relationships with and negotiating with suppliers.
2. Reducing vendor related issues.
3. Reducing inventory
4. Improving overall team performance.
5. Cutting lead times down.
6. Performing team morning meetings.
7. Create and implement a vendor qualification system.
8. Completing a supply chain audit.
9. Coaching and training the purchasing team.
10. Setting goals to tackle poor performance and recognising good performance.
11. Working with LEAN / 5S / Kaizen manufacturing initiatives.
