Job Description
Our client, a high profile Estate and venue in London with over 4 million visitors per year, is looking for a senior security professional to lead the tactical delivery of security operations. Leading a team of Duty Managers, Supervisors, Security Controllers and Security Officers, the Head of Security Operations Delivery will work with internal departments and external clients, to plan and deliver the security operation 365 days a year. Alongside Security operations, this role will work on providing support and input to the security direction and strategy for this large scale business.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
* Leadership of the security department, to foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive interdependent team.
* Line management of Security Duty Managers (SDM’s), ensuring that the team are effectively led, developed, and perform to the highest standards.
* Act as the escalation point for the SDM’s in managing Security related investigations
* Delivery of department training needs – sourcing, planning and delivery.
* Responsible for Security Operations Team Payroll approval (in line with budget).
* Oversight of department roster management and sickness and absence monitoring
Business Management
* Shared responsibility for Budget / Forecasting.
* Managing and maintaining budgeting for the Security department and its suppliers.
* Overseeing contracts to maintain cost effectiveness and efficiency highlighting areas for improvement.
* Ensure that all Audit, Risk & Compliance actions are identified and closed out to the agreed timeline.
* Attendance and co-lead for Security Governance as required.
* Provide Board & Monthly Leadership Reports to the COO.
* Tender and contract management for all manned guarding services.
Operations
* Ensure that the security department, and the security plans are aligned to business objectives and procedures are appropriate, communicated, and active within the business.
* Ensure the venue security operation is planned and executed efficiently, led by the Security Planning Manager, with plans prepared, documented, and shared with all relevant parties.
* Represent the venue security operations to clients and their appointed security leads, and event security providers, from a planning and delivery perspective.
* Attend client meetings to discuss security provisions and recommend solutions to ensure clients are adequately covered.
* Liaison in planning and delivery with Transport organisations and Met Police, to continue to develop a positive and collaborative partnership.
* Tactical lead for Security and Counter Terrorism.
* Incident and inquiry investigations - Carry out the requirements for the security department as detailed in the Resilience Strategy in handling security incidents, conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Event Control Room senior lead for major events.
* Carry out Duty Director duties.
* Oversee the forward resourcing requirements for the core team to ensure that key areas of work and priorities are efficiently resourced.
* Investigate all security breaches and report action.
Contract Management & standards
* Management of support contracts, contractor KPI's and standards
* Ensure external security providers hold an Approved Contractor Scheme SIA certificate and insurance cover to provide their services.
* Daily quality control of Event Security business partners.
* Annual audit of manned guarding suppliers.
* Cost (& revenue) management – focused on efficient use of resources and ‘smart’ working.
Training
* Maintain the security team training plans up to date for all security staff and their knowledge of procedures is tested regularly.
Budget
* Ensure that operational budgets are effectively controlled and managed, to achieve the best value for money.
You must have experience of:
* the security industry, intelligence gathering - candidates must be able to demonstrate prior experience within a similar capacity within a high footfall environment
* Leading large operational teams in large facilities.
* Cost management / revenue opportunities.
* Mentoring / developing teams.
* Able to work across departments collaboratively, and through organisation at all levels.
* Worked in busy, fast paced environments.
* Extensive team leadership, managing people & situations
Education -
NEBOSH Diploma or similar H&S qualification would be preferred.
An awareness of Fire and Security Systems is required in this role
Candidates will be required to obtain SIA Door Supervisor Licence and SIA CCTV Licences.
First Aid At Work trained.
