Job summary
We are excited to be able to advertise for a Senior Occupational Therapist within the Integrated Community Stroke Rehabilitation Service (ICSRS).
The ICSRS is a service commissioned by Cheshire and Merseyside ICS and delivered by University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM).
The ICSRS will be delivered to the population of Eastern Cheshire to support more timely discharges from the acute hospital setting, to deliver care closer to home and it will address the physical, psychological and social wellbeing needs of the population.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward thinking Senior Occupational Therapist who is interested in developing their specialised rehabilitation skills within the ICSRS operating in East Cheshire.

You will require excellent interpersonal skills to enable you to work closely with a range of staff from various professional backgrounds. You will provide early rehabilitation for stroke patients, setting goals and treatment plans to be followed by the interdisciplinary team. You will also be promoting a seamless transition from the acute hospital to the home environment whilst continuing to work towards patient's rehabilitation goals in their own home or normal place of residence. The ability to develop & sustain good working relationships with colleagues and peers is essential. You must demonstrate an empathetic approach and be responsive to patients needs and be flexible in your approach to work and adaptable in carrying out your tasks, managing your own workload and working unsupervised. Training and competencies will be addressed through our experienced and supported therapy team.
