About the opportunity:
We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a well-established independent banking and financial services group.
We are presenting a new and exciting opportunity for a highly organised and meticulous Collections Officer to join the team in Basingstoke.
As a Collections Officer, you will be responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of accounts, ensuring the timely recovery of outstanding debts. Your main focus will be to engage positively with customers, facilitate payment plans, and resolve any disputes or queries that may arise during the collections process.
Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining accurate records of collection activities, providing updates to the team, and working closely with other departments including the debt recovery team based in Manchester. Your attention to detail and strong organisational skills will help ensure that all accounts are managed efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
1. Previous experience in a simlar role within a regulated environment is desirable.
2. Strong negotiation and communication skills both written and verbal.
3. Ability to build rapport with clients and handle challenging situations.
4. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
5. A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
6. Ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively.
7. Knowledge of relevant regulations surrounding collections and debt recovery would be desirable.
8. Live within a commutable distance to the offices in Basingstoke.
