About the Role:
The Counselling Foundation is a charitable organisation that provides counselling and training services, operating in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. We have been serving our communities for over 40 years, offering a welcoming culture and commitment to client care.
Our services are divided into four strands:
* Counselling Services: We provide heavily subsidised long-term counselling for those who cannot afford private care, as well as short-term work for referred clients using NHS-approved modalities like Counselling for Depression (CfD) or Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT).
* EAP Contracts and Other Services: We offer short-term work for EAP contracts and other NHS agreements.
* Training Programmes: Our CPDs, short courses like Introduction to Counselling and Effective Listening, and a four-year Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling accredited by the BACP help equip professionals with essential skills.
We're seeking passionate counsellors to join our team and contribute to our mission of expanding mental health support in our communities. As a semi-autonomous practitioner, you'll assess clients, deliver counselling, and collaborate with the wider team to ensure seamless step-up and step-down arrangements.
This role will involve working with clients using PCE-Counselling for Depression or Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy, potentially collaborating with our subsidised service and other contracts. You'll receive support from clinical managers and administrators.
Above all, you'll be part of a charitable organisation embracing diversity, innovation, and local connections.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality counselling services to clients, adhering to NHS standards and CfD modality guidelines.
* Assess client suitability for counselling and develop individualised plans.
* Collaborate with the wider team to ensure effective referrals, assessments, and case management.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of new programmes and services.
Requirements:
* Necessary Qualifications: A qualification in NHS/IAPT compliant modality Counselling for Depression (CfD), degree-level qualification in Counselling, and membership with BACP/UKCP.
* Essential Experience: At least 320 client hours, including agency work, and significant post-qualification experience in paid or voluntary capacities.
* Desirable Skills: Level 7 BACP-accredited course completion, primary care or IAPT setting experience, and proficiency in electronic case management systems like IAPTus.
Compensation: £30 per client session worked, plus access to subsidised TCF CPD events and benefits.
