A key role responsible for control of all capital expenditure, statutory reporting and tax compliance, as well as providing financial insight to the R&D function.
Role outline:
Statutory accounting, tax and compliance
1. Produce the statutory accounts along with the associated supporting evidence and reconciliations.
2. Responsible for all tax compliance matters (Corporation tax, VAT, RDEC submission)
3. Coordinate the external audit process and promote best practice in internal control compliance, identifying and implementing improvements.
Fixed asset management
4. Support for, and vetting of, investment applications, and subsequent follow up and reporting.
5. Maintenance and verification of the fixed asset register.
6. R&D capital project monitoring, and impairment reviews.
Business Partnering and collaboration
7. Act as Finance Business Partner to the R&D function, providing analysis, insight and recommendations to aid decision making.
8. Provide finance training to non-finance teams to develop financial acumen.
9. Support finance team completion of month end close, forecasting, and business planning activities as required.
Continuous Improvement
10. Support / drive digitalisation and continuous improvement projects within both the finance department, and across other departments.
Education / Qualification / Experience:
11. Hands on experience in Statutory Accounts preparation and tax compliance
12. Good working knowledge of ERP systems (eg. SysPro, SAP or similar).
13. Advanced skills in Microsoft office, especially Excel.
