We are looking for innovative and enthusiastic teachers to complement our very committed and highly supportive team. Specialisms in English, PE, Science and Thrive would be an advantage but not essential. We are exceptionally proud of the impact we have made in ensuring the very best for all our pupils now and in the future and welcome candidates who share the ethos of valuing everyone’s contribution and working collaboratively with all parties to ensure the very best for pupils.
You will be working in a school which will be both challenging and rewarding where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils and staff are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible.
We offer comprehensive training, insight into therapeutic practice and further career development opportunities.
Somerset School employs a rigorous “safeguarding” approach to recruitment.
We are keen to hear from experienced teachers as well as those who are just starting in their careers who want to work alongside young people with autism and their families.
This position is due to commence as soon as possible – subject to approved reference/DBS checks. Cambian is an Equal Opportunities Employer. Cambian is committed to Safeguarding and protecting the young people and service users within our care. All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
Cambian will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will be purely based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when it is relevant and of concern
