About the Role
Base Location: Thatcham or Glasgow
Salary: £33,063 - £38,404 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Local Stores Analyst is a member of the Local Stores team, reporting to the Local Stores Team Manager. They are a key support function for the local stores in providing reports and managing the in-house replenishment process. The replenishment parameters are set analytically by this person alongside collaboration with each customer. Analysis of customer demand trends will result in recommendations to make adjustments minimising availability gaps whilst ensuring that stock holding at each site is optimal to support business needs. This person will also help manage the needs and queries of the customers daily.
You will visit the local depots for SSE and our contractors in Southern England and/or Scotland to audit stock management processes to ensure they are being followed and carry out investigations into stock discrepancies to discover root cause of error. You will feedback to the wider business on recommendations for any process improvements that can be rolled out in a scalable way to improve stock integrity across the base of Local Stores. This feedback will be based on sound analysis from business data and process evaluations from investigating issues at 'the coal face'.
This role is for a candidate with experience in analytical work and a good eye for detail. This will involve gaining a detailed knowledge of the Local Stores and an ability to accurately interpret customer requirements and plans. They will require the ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written form with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Actively manage inventory optimisation using Min/Max planning to ensure target stock availability levels are met whilst driving down overall inventory levels.
* Ensure that non-conformities are addressed through effective root-cause analysis and appropriate corrective and preventive action.
* Analyse constrained stock at warehouse level, to maximise customer availability.
* Actively contribute to the improvement of inventory spread throughout multiple regions to ensure all customers are able to continue planned work without disruption.
* Other ad hoc supply chain administrative tasks based on team priorities.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
* Excellent disciplined analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Self motivated and comfortable taking control of role and managing complex issues to resolution.
* Stakeholder engagement skills with ability to understand requirements and work in partnership to deliver effective solutions.
* Required proficiency in specialist data analytics tools (e.g. Excel, PowerBI) with strong knowledge to advanced level using MS Excel/Word/Powerpoint and most importantly be able to learn new systems and tools easily.
* Certification or accreditation in Computer Science, Data Management, Statistics or a related discipline would be highly beneficial but not essential.
