Job Title: Maintenance Team Leader
Pay rate: £19.68 per hour PAYE or £25.84 per hour Umbrella

Shifts: Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:30 Days or Monday to Thursday 18.00 - 04.30am Nights
Duration: Up to 6 months

Position Summary
1. Responsible for the work planning co-ordination with the customer.
2. The daily management of the warm storage team to ensure that all customer requests are met and contractual obligations are fulfilled.
3. Responsible for managing team operations, activities and personnel at the relevant Depot and customer location(s).
4. Based from Cambridge depot, but travelling to and from our customers locations and depots to provide warm storage support and work as prescribed by the customer.
5. Carrying out and recording of start of shift briefs and daily safety meetings and ensuring any issues that are unable to be dealt with are escalated.
6. Carrying out fitter duties to ensure minimum service levels are achieved.
7. Updating the customers maintenance management system as required and completing all relevant customer documentation.
8. Ensuring warm storage team members remain competent and carrying out In Process Evaluations.
9. Supporting the Depot Manager and depot teams with routine depot related processes such as fire alarm testing, legionella monitoring/flushing, conducting safety tours, issuing of Permits to Work, carrying out depot inductions/safety briefs and any other Cambridge depot duties as directed.
10. Assisting with the interview process of prospective team members when requested and confirming arrangements for new starters.
11. Ensuring that the customers depot safety plans and other depot specific safety instructions are adhered to.
12. Support other workstreams at Cambridge or other Customer locations as and when required.
13. Ensuring unit availability for wheel turning runs as per customer's plan.
14. Management of Materials and required parts stock levels.
Key Responsibilities will include:
1. Implementation and maintenance of safety systems, production efficiency and quality output at the relevant Depot site.
2. Carry out work as allocated within set timescales and to the recognised standards.
3. Ensuring the wellbeing of all relevant personnel.
4. Managing the team roster to ensure minimum service levels are maintained. Conducting probation reviews, RTWs, 1 to 1s and absence reporting when required.
5. Implementation of customer requirements.
6. Production of meaningful KPI's for internal and external monitoring.
7. Mentoring and coaching of Team Members to ensure that they fulfil their job requirements and have the relevant training to do so.
8. Ensure team member work in line with procedures, any relevant VMI's & local instructions.
9. Carry out any duties within your level of competence as requested by the Depot Manager.
10. Assisting with continuous improvement innovations.
11. Ensuring work locations are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant standards.
12. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
13. Responsible for the effective recording of activity in accordance with Company, Customer and best practice Standards.
14. Ensuring that team members are up to date with business communications.
15. Responsible for the effective and prompt recording of activity in accordance with Company, Customer and best practice Standards (both on worksheets and electronically) as defined by the customer.
16. Ensure that the appropriate Quality and Environmental procedures and work instructions are adhered to.
17. Attend technical, quality, safety and general briefings ensuring that the necessary action is taken on items raised.
18. Always maintain good housekeeping and standard of cleanliness throughout ATC and customer depots.
19. Use of all PPE in accordance with standards and local instructions.
Qualification and Requirements
1. Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
2. NVQ Level 3 qualification in Traction and Rolling Stock or a recognised apprenticeship.
3. Driving licence.
Experience and Knowledge
1. Previous experience, involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities.
2. DMU maintenance, overhaul or fault diagnosis experience.
3. Understanding of Depot Operations.
4. Able to interpret engineering drawings and provide technical solutions to problems.
5. Understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
6. Understanding of applicable health, safety and environmental standards and requirements, including ISO 9001 and 14001.
7. Previous Team Management experience.
