Role: Foreman

The Foreman is responsible for the day to day running of the general earthworks activities. The purpose of the role is to have a single ‘one stop’ point of local authority for the day to day control of the people, equipment and materials being used in a sub section of the works. On small sites, this will incorporate the direct running of the team, on larger sites, each team may have a Supervisor in charge that will report to the Foreman. On larger sites the Foreman may also be one of several Foremen and will report into a Works Manager. The Foreman will work with the Works Manager and Engineering team to set the plans for the work and then execute them.
Duties:
* Accountable for the health, and safety of your workforce and environmental protection of the surrounding area. It is expected that you will be visiting each team under your direct control daily and ensuring compliance with H&S policy and procedure including stopping work if you notice non-compliance.
* Accountable for productivity. It is expected that you will work with the team Supervisors including by taking direct control and demonstrating effective supervision such that teams are as efficient as possible.
* Following the plan. It is expected that you will ensure that teams are performing the work planned for them.
