Infrastructure and Security Engineer
£35,000 - £40,000 annual salary
Castle Donington (3 days per week in the office)
My client is a leading global workwear business with a staff of over 1000 and offices the UK, Europe and North America. Due to continued expansion they are looking to recruit another Infrastructure and Security Engineer to join their growing team.
The purpose of the role to ensure the stability, security and efficiency of the company's infrastructure via managing and optimising their networks, systems, servers, databases and other components to maintain a resilient IT environment. You will also identify and mitigate cybersecurity threats, implement robust security protocols and respond promptly to incidents to protect sensitive data.
In terms of minimum experience required, my client is looking for the following:
* IT Infrastructure and Security Expertise:
Extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure, including Azure AD, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender and Patch Management.
Practical knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure (IaaS, PaaS) and Microsoft Office 365.
* Incident Response and Threat Mitigation:
Proven ability to monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats.
Experience in conducting security audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing.
* Compliance and Security Frameworks:
Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, GDPR, and PCI-DSS.
Knowledge of security frameworks like NIST and CIS.
* Technical Problem-Solving:
Advanced troubleshooting skills for second-line and third-line support to address infrastructure and security-related issues with minimal disruption.
* Communication and Documentation:
Strong communication skills to provide technical guidance and deliver training.
Experience in creating detailed documentation, including IT processes, policies, and knowledge articles.
The role encompasses a much broader stack of technology but my client is happy for this to be learnt and developed on the job. Ideally I am looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in an infrastructure support role along with a basic knowledge of cybersecurity.
