Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and follow the lesson plans provided.
* Maintain a positive and focused learning environment by implementing behaviour management strategies where necessary.
* Support students with any questions or tasks during the lesson, offering guidance and clarification when needed.
* Liaise with teaching staff and heads of department to provide feedback on students’ progress and behaviour.
* Ensure the health and safety of students at all times and handle any incidents in line with school policies.
* Foster a supportive and respectful classroom atmosphere, encouraging students to participate and remain on task.
Requirements:
* A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. A degree is highly desirable, especially for graduates considering a career in teaching.
* Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a school environment or similar setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage groups of students effectively.
* Adaptability, patience, and resilience to deal with varied classroom situations.
* An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
