As a company, we’re playing a leading role in the Government’s plans to get the country back on its feet. On the back of recent £m Green Recovery announcement, we’re looking for a dynamic Community Comms officer who specialises in Sustainable Urban Drainage systems
to join the team, who is proactive in their engagement with customers and key stakeholders whilst utilising a range of communication and engagement channels.
Working as a subject matter expert within Mansfield, you’ll help manage the customer and stakeholder communications, comms channels and day-to-day customer engagement within Mansfield. You’ll also be working closely with the Senior Capital Community Comms Officer, the Green Recovery team and the wider Comms team. As we move into the next AMP of work, you’ll be the expert in Sustainable Urban Drainage and will be key to engage and communicate with all stakeholders across the Severn Trent region.
The role will be currently based in Mansfield at the civic centre, based with the Mansfield Suds team, with the expectation of frequent time spent out and about in and around Mansfield and to attend monthly community comms team meetings within the Severn Trent region. As we start to carry out more Sustainable urban drainage across the Severn Trent patch you will be expected to travel when required.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:
1. Stakeholder and customer management planning with Severn Trent project teams and contractors
2. Ownership of the Customer Management Plan
3. All stakeholder and customer comms (excluding Traffic Management)
4. All customer comms channels – including letters, webpages, press releases, community engagement, public exhibitions, hyperlocal marketing and social media and internal comms
5. Provide regular updates to project teams, local County Comms Group and the wider Comms teams
6. Be subject matter expert in one or more counties within the Severn Trent region
7. Management of customer complaint process and end of scheme customer feedback process
8. Management of Severn Trent’s brand and reputation, helping to ensure a single brand strategy is used throughout the customer journey of our planned work programme of Mansfield

You’ll come to Severn Trent with demonstratable communications and stakeholder experience as well as previous experience of managing customer communication channels. You’ll have strong influencing and customer management skills as well as a customer-centric thinking and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Due to the location of the planned projects around Mansfield it is essential for you to hold a Full UK Driving License and have both the ability and willingness to travel across our region on a regular basis if needed.
