They have an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to work as part of the team based in Exeter, providing both a planned and responsive maintenance service.
Salary: Up to £32,462 per annum plus on-call allowances/overtime.
Location: Exeter
Hours: This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm
We welcome applicants from electrical, plumbing, fabric or other maintenance disciplines, qualified to a standard of at least NVQ3 or equivalent.
Role responsibilities as a Maintenance Assistant include:
Undertake maintenance within student residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and reporting any hazards identified to the relevant manager/supervisor.
Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all building fabric related work using an iPad and a CAFM repairs management system.
Carry out PPM in accordance with the schedule.
Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance.
Set up and maintain adequate systems and controls to ensure all statutory obligations are met and provide specialist guidance to team colleagues to assist with tasks.
Liaise with specialist sub-contractors.
Assist team colleagues in other trades and at other locations as and when the need arises and assist with team development including cross-trade skills sharing and assessment.
Take the lead in stock management appropriate to trade specialism (ordering, storage, distribution) ensuring appropriate parts are held and available to meet SLA timescales for repairs.
Undertake training as required.
Participate in an on-call rota as UPP’s primary representative, ensuring SLA requirements and client expectations are met and matters are communicated effectively to appropriate parties
