The Role The UK Operations Director - Logistics will play a critical role in leading all activity across UK operations across in-house warehousing & transport operations. Based in Leicestershire, this position is a truly exciting opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding and industry-leading organisation which will include directing an already impressive UK distribution network, new site expansion. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction for all UK business operational activities, including warehousing, 50 vehicles, ongoing delivery of the operational growth strategy, continuous improvement initiatives and projects. Reporting Structure: Report to the European Managing Director. Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing, collective UK operational team (200 employees) through Head of & Manager level direct reports. Business Growth: An awareness of the potential challenges new site start up launches can have on collective culture is important to this client. Client Relationships: Maintain and develop an already impressive multi-user customer base. Budget Responsibility: Develop and manage the operational budget in excess of £20m, ensuring financial objectives are achieved while maintaining service & quality. Performance Metrics: Continue to evolve the organisational approach to KPI's, whilst ensuring existing and new site standardisation. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practice. Process Optimisation: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Innovation: Drive innovation, Automation & Robotics along with the adoption of new technologies to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Stakeholder Management: Align objectives, seek resolutions and drive success with UK & International peers. The Candidate The successful candidate for the UK Operations Director - Logistics position will have the following skills and experiences: A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background - Essential. Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, MBA or advanced degree - Advantageous The successful candidate must have operated at a Regional General Manager, Head of, or Director level for a Logistics business for a minimum of 5 years - Essential. Exposure to medium sized warehouse & transport operations - Highly Advantageous Previous budgetary responsibility across multi-site operations in excess of £20m - Essential. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams - Essential. Prior commercial knowledge of the UK logistics market. An individual truly excited by large scale growth challenges. Commutable to the Leicestershire area for 5 days per week.
