CNC Setter / Operator | Edinburgh | Permanent | £27k - £34k (depending on experience) Are you a CNC Setter / Operator looking for a new challenge? If you are passionate about precision engineering and have experience as a Setter / Operator, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Our client is a well-established precision engineering business that specialises in machined components and mechanical assemblies for the automotive, defence and aerospace industries. They have a range of modern machines, including Star, Miyano and Okuma. They are looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join their team. You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning lathes to produce high-quality parts according to technical drawings and specifications. You will also perform quality control checks, troubleshoot and resolve any issues, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. To be successful in this role, you will need: Proficiency in setting and programming CNC lathes. Specific experience with CTX or OKUMA lathes would be advantageous but not absolutely necessary.
Experience using FANUC controls.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and use measuring equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
The shift pattern for this role is 37 hours per week (day shift and back shift on alternate weeks). The day shift is from 06:00 to 14:00 Monday to Thursday and 06:00 to 11:00 Friday. The back shift is from 14:00 to 22:00 Monday to Thursday and 11:00 to 16:00 Friday
