The Machine Operative will be responsible for operating and maintaining machines used for packing and other production tasks. This role involves using machinery efficiently, checking the quality of products, and keeping the work area clean and organized. Following safety rules and working well with the team to meet production goals are essential parts of this job.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Operate machinery and equipment according to the given guidelines and schedule.
Ensure machines are set up correctly and functioning efficiently.
Monitor the quality of products produced to ensure they meet company standards.
Report any issues with machinery or products to the supervisor promptly. Maintenance and Cleanliness:
Keep the work area clean and organized, following health and safety regulations.
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on machines as required.
Ensure all activities comply with safety and quality procedures. Teamwork:
Collaborate with other team members to maintain a smooth production process.
Communicate with supervisors and colleagues about production progress and any issues encountered. Key Requirements:
Previous experience in a production or manufacturing role is helpful, especially with machinery operation.
Ability to use machinery safely and efficiently.
Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Flexibility to work day and night shifts, including weekends, as required. Shift Pattern:
Week 1: 60 hours
Week 2: 24 hours
Continental Shift Pattern: Includes both day and night shifts, each lasting 12 hours. Pay Rate:
Hourly Rate: £14.06 per hour during training; increases to £14.64 per hour after successful completion of training
