Overview:Interim Head of Marketing Growth We are currently looking for an experienced Interim Head of Growth to join us on 18-months contract. In this high impact role, you’ll be responsible for leading the development of our customer/ marketing technology roadmap to drive more efficient, data-driven and human-centred engagement with our customers and communities. You’ll be target-focussed and confident leading bold marketing strategies that harness the power of data and customer insight. You’ll be instrumental in building commercial models that not only measure success but redefine it, using metrics like lifetime value and cost of acquisition to drive sustainable, measurable, scalable growth. Leading a team of marketing and CRM professionals, you’ll have the freedom to be creative to experiment and push boundaries. You will collaborate with colleagues in Brand, Communications, Xp, Digital, Data Science, Creative and Product teams to deliver campaigns that resonate deeply with our audiences and elevate the Royal Society of Chemistry to new heights. Key responsibilities: Strategy Development: Lead the development and implementation of RSC’s global omnichannel consumer marketing strategy to deliver against revenue and impact targets Set the foundations for growth in diversified revenue streams through the identification of new routes to market, such as through the development of affiliate marketing programmes and commercial partnerships Develop and apply evidence-based modelling to understand the levers for growth in different markets, analysing and forecasting trends and consumer behaviours, and taking decisions accordingly Performance Optimisation: Lead the development and implementation of RSC’s Customer Outcomes Framework to measure, analyse and act on performance data and insight Proactively manage strategy performance against targets, using insights to lead the optimisation of acquisition channels, customer retention, and the refinement of the overall strategy. Marketing Technology: Lead the development of RSC’s marketing technology roadmap; translating the future state customer experience into a technology strategy that will deliver an enhanced, personalised, consistent customer experience and a lower cost to serve that adheres to the principles of RSC’s new enterprise architecture design Provide leadership, influence and guidance to the leadership team on marketing technology best practice design and implementation Change Management Lead the development and implementation of new processes and technologies during a period of significant organisational change Stakeholder Management Advocate for the future state customer experience, confidently articulating the rationale for delivering the marketing technology roadmap set in the context of competing priorities and organisational objectives Budget & Resource Management: Be highly commercially focused, overseeing the global marketing budget to ensure efficient allocation of resources for maximum return on investment (ROI). Essential Requirements: A confident, credible senior leader with significant and demonstrable growth and marketing experience in customer acquisition and retention, ideally with experience in digital products. Recognised strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans. You will bring to the role exceptional leadership and team building abilities, with a passion for growing talent and fostering a positive and inclusive working environment. Highly experienced developing and implementing marketing technology roadmaps in line with a future state customer experience to optimise customer acquisition, retention and engagementExperience in identifying growth opportunities and working with the Head of Customer Experience and Head of Product Management to develop growth loops across the customer life cycle. Strong analytical skills with experience working closely with data science and finance teams to build customer segmentation models and commercial forecasts. Highly proficient in tracking key metrics such as LTV, COA, retention rates, and other commercial KPIs. At the RSC we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate. Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, you will have the opportunity to also work mostly from a UK location other than this.
