About the Role
As a Casual Trainer at St John Ambulance, you will be responsible for delivering and assessing a variety of First Aid and Health & Safety training courses to our workplace and community training customers.
The main requirement is to train our 1,2 and 3-day first aid courses, but we are also the country’s leading provider of Fire Marshal and IOSH Managing Safely training as well as fast-becoming a major player in mental health and wellbeing courses. All our trainers deliver the first aid suite and for that we need candidates to have a level 3 assessing and teaching/training qualification (such as CiLD), however we would be interested too in hearing from people wishing to work on casual terms to solely deliver the Managing Safely course for which you would need to be NEBOSH qualified. Subject to these qualifications, we can teach you the rest, although if you also have experience of training first aid then you would be a great candidate.
Our courses receive incredible customer satisfaction ratings because they are the best on the market delivered by passionate, well-trained, adaptable trainers in cohesive teams supported by expert advice and guidance. We are an organisation that truly believes in giving delegates not just the certificate, but the skills and confidence to make a difference when the time comes. We do that by making our courses interactive, enjoyable and practical as well as assessing understanding throughout the course. We also all seek to live the values of the organisation every day, those of humanity, excellence, accountability, responsiveness, and teamwork. If that sounds like something you could fit into, then please get in touch.
Most of the time you would be working in one area and on weekdays in our training venues (we have around 200 across the country), in addition you would run courses on customer premises and travel to other areas when necessary (so you need to be able to get yourself there, with the required equipment) and occasionally do courses at weekends or in the evening.
Please see the job description for more detail (this can be viewed on our website or once you click apply)
