Care Home Chef -£35,000 per annum
REPORTS TO:Home Manager
QUALIFICATION: Hospitality & Catering Level 3 /City & Guilds inCateringor Equivalent
* Passionate about food and is able to produce home-cooked meals from fresh ingredients, this will include cooking a variety of breakfasts, hot lunches, home-baking of desserts, plus preparation for supper
* Organised and able to prioritise workload under pressure
* Aware of safe delivery of Food & Hygiene services and CQC regulations
* To be self-motivated and pro-active with wanting to make a difference to the lives of our service-users.

In this exciting role you will be key to producing high-quality food for our service-users. You will need to prepare, cook and present well-balanced meals and beverages to the highest quality incorporating, cultural and dietary needs, as required by the residents and staff of the Home.To be confident in preparing and plating meals to a quality that mealtimes are made to feel special and of restaurant quality and ambience with planning of meals that reflect choice and preference needs and dietary requirements required by our service-users.
All food cooked on the premises will need to be planned with provision of nutritious meals to our service-users on a daily basis, ensuring that food purchased is fresh.
We are proud that Woodlands has a 5*star rating of cleanliness, therefore, it is important for the Chef to have pride and ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen, meeting the required standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health Agencies and to conform to Woodlands Food Hygiene procedures, complying to Woodlands mandatory COSHH and HACCP policies and guidelines, along with ensuring that all equipment used is well maintained, in good working order and to log any defects.
From time to time, you will assist with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties and any other special meals throughout the year.
* Ensuring all health and safety and environmental health standards are achieved and maintained
* Participate in staff meetings and in staff training, where applicable
* Report and record in the appropriate manner any information considered to be important to the Homes Manager
* Adhere to Woodlands policies and procedures
* Maintain and check First Aid equipment within the Kitchen
* Carry out good food Management, temperature controls and HACCP documentation according to current Food Hygiene regulations
Chef Additional Attributes:
* Previous Experience in a Care or Similar Setting
* Car Driver
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Committed to providing a high quality service
* Responsive to residents individual dietary and cultural needs
* Willing to attend such training sessions that are deemed necessary by line management.
* Team worker
* Aptitude towards continuous learning and development
* First Aid Certified
